‘Rel’ Series Canceled After 1 Season
Not so good news for “Rel” fans. Fox has canceled the comedy starring Lil Rel Howery after just one season. Unfortunately, the network has not granted a second season for the comedy series from Jerrod Carmichael, Mike Scully and 20th Century Fox TV.
The cancelation appears to be due to poor ratings. According to reports, the season averaged a modest 0.8 adults 18-49 rating and 2.1 million viewers in Live+7.
Rel was co-created by Lil Rel Howery and Kevin Barnett and starred Howery.
It debuted September 9, 2018 on Fox. The series also starred Jordan L. Jones, Jessica “Jess Hilarious” Moore and Sinbad. Loosely based on Howery’s own life, it followed a Chicago man trying to rebuild his life after his ex-wife slept with his barber.
