Jay-Z’s ‘B-Sides 2′ Concert: Nipsey Hussle Tribute + Nas’ Appearance
Jay-Z put on quite the show at Webster Hall in New York City Friday. It was an intimate setting in the venue, which seats 2,500. The highly-anticipated concert, which was of course sold out, also marked the spot’s opening after undergoing renovations for more than a year. Some of the decor featured a huge disco ball with the Roc-A-Fella logo on it.

He performed 39 songs.

During the show, be brought up his fellow New Yorkers Cam’ron, who performed Welcome to New York City, and his foe turned friend, Nas, who did The World Is Yours. Jay-Z and Nas also did their song Success together. He also brought out Jim Jones.

Jay-Z also took time to recognize late rapper and social activist Nipsey Hussle. He died last month after being shot in front of his South L.A. store, The Marathon. Jay-Z freestyled a song that saluted Hussle for his efforts in the music industry and the community.

His wife Beyoncé was also spotted.

The rapper didn’t hesitate to thank fans for their presence, pointing out that Avengers: Endgame was also a highly-anticipated show. He said in the middle of the performance,
“Thank you all for being here. This means a lot to me. I know the ‘Avengers’ is playing in a theater down the block and all, but the Avengers aren’t even real.”
