Jay-Z, Meek Mill, Van Jones Make Moves To Push Prison Reform Via REFORM Alliance They Launched
Rappers Jay-Z, Meek Mill and CNN Analyst Van Jones have all been vocal about the need for prison reform, especially in the Black community. Now, it looks like they’ve taken their efforts up a notch. The rappers, activists and TV personality were seen meeting for REFORM Alliance, an organization Jay-Z and Meek Mill launched recently. Jones is the CEO of the group and 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin, Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Nets co-owner Clara Wu Tsai are also founders.

It aims to improve the criminal justice system in various ways like amending laws and policies. They’ve been vocal about their goal to a million people out of jail within the next five years, and focus on probation and parole. They pledged $50 million to help their efforts.
REFORM Alliance posted snapshots of the trio along with others on its Instagram page using its hashtag #FightDifferent Wednesday.
Based on the photos, it’s safe to say Meek Mill and Jay-Z got pretty vocal while Jones spoke on a plan.

Meek Mill expressed his passion for reform recently. He said,
“I’ve lost too much time away from my son, my family, my friends and fans in Philly because of outdated probation laws, so I want to make sure people don’t have go through what I did.”
Just last month he and Jones were seen introducing a new Philadelphia bill for better prison reform laws.
