While The Met Gala is known for our favorite celebrities wearing the most head-turning outfits, Tiffany Haddish got extra attention for her unexpected accessory on the red carpet… fried chicken.
She showed an interviewer her snack and said,
“[Don’t be] hating on my chicken, girl. You want a piece? I cooked it myself.”
The interviewer laughed and said she actually did want some and took a piece from Haddish. That seemed to make the actress and comedienne’s night as she yelled,
“It’s a white woman eating chicken on camera!”
Haddish went on to describe the inspiration for her look. The theme for the night was Camp: Notes On Fashion. Haddish said of her look, which was a Michael Kors zebra-printed pantsuit,
“I’m pimping… I’m looking for employees. When I heard it was camp this year I went 110 percent in. I said Michael come on with something to let these men know that she ready.”
As for the chicken, she added,
“And then I brought some food cause I heard men like to eat.”
