Kodak Black Called ‘Danger To The Community’ By Judge, Ordered To Stay In Jail Until Trial For Weapons Violation
A judge has refused to let Kodak Blackback on the streets. The 21-year-old rapper, whose real name is Bill K. Kapri, was arrested for a weapons violation recently, will have to stay in jail until his trial.
U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno called him, “a danger to his community,” referring to his long rap sheet full of criminal activity.
Prosecutors who argued against Kodak Black’s release accused him of lying on federal forms when he bought the weapons from a gun store in Miami. Assistant U.S. Attorney Bruce Brown said he bought a 9 mm handgun and a .380 caliber handgun along with a semiautomatic Mini Draco gun.

While he pleaded not guilty and a judge even allowed him to be released and ordered him to house arrest for $550,000, Moreno reversed that ruling and said he was worried about the guns Kodak Black bought. He said he was convinced the rapper would be able to steer clear of trouble even under house arrest.
As for the weapons, Kodak Black’s lawyer admitted that he purchased them, but said it was for his safety as he was receiving threats from gangs. Still, one of his new weapons was at the scene of a Pompano Beach shooting.
It’s going to be a long summer for Kodak Black, who is already up against sexual assault, drug and weapons charges. For now, he’ll be in jail in Miami until the outcome of his trial, which is slated to kick off before the end of the summer.
