Animated Spice Girls Movie in the Works
Paramount Animation is gearing up to “spice up” the big screen! Iconic girl group, the Spice Girls, are creating their second movie, and all five members – Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm, Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown, Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton, Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell, and Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham – are, reportedly, on board.
Their longtime manager and creator, Simon Fuller, is producing the cartoon film, with Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith writing the screenplay. The feature is set to include both their classics and new music. Paramount Animation president, Mireille Soria, said this about the upcoming girl power project:
“The Spice Girls had an idea that we’ve been developing. They are very involved.”
She continued:
“We are all about a diverse slate of movies, but the common denominator being quality, story, heart.”
The girls’ first film, “Spice World,” was a huge success upon its release in 1998 – created to be the Spice Girl version of the Beatles‘ film, “A Hard Day’s Night.” The girl group (minus Victoria Beckham) are currently on a sold-out reunion tour of their home country of the U.K. and Ireland.

Paramount Animation is eyeing a 2020 release for the movie.
