LeBron James’ Space Jam 2 Gets New Director, Malcolm D. Lee

Lebron James‘ “Space Jam” sequel is getting a new big man. For reasons unknown, “Girls Trip/Night School” director, Malcolm D. Lee will replace Terence Nance according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Ryan Coogler produced and written movie is set to star Lebron, Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson, and his new Los Angeles Lakers teammate, Anthony Davis.

Another big ticket draw for the new “Space Jam” is actor Don Cheadle. Lebron James tipped fans that he and Don had already shot scenes together.

In early June, the NBA champion expressed his gratitude to fill the shoes of basketball legend Michael Jordan for the movie.

The original “Space Jam” was a massive success in 1996, starring MJ, Bill Murray, and the animated Looney Toons cast.

“Space Jam 2” premieres in theaters on July 16, 2021.
