YG’s Home Raided In Connection To Shooting, Several People Detained
YG’s (real name Keenon Jackson) Hollywood Hills home was reportedly raided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department. The search is in connection to a shooting involving an SUV registered to the 29-year-old rapper, which left one deputy shot and an innocent bystander dead.
YG was not arrested nor present during the raid on the home, which he leases. Several people have reportedly been detained and one man was arrested, authorities stated. Tyquan Williams, 29, was arrested on suspicion of a weapons-related charge and is being held on $25,000 bail, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. No details were released about those detained.
As previously reported, authorities are looking into a shooting that happened on July 4th, involving a deputy in Compton that resulted in a high-speed chase that ended in Inglewood. The ‘Big Bank’ artist is reportedly the registered owner of the black Cadillac Escalade that was involved. A man, who is believed to be an innocent bystander, was killed at the scene, while a deputy officer was shot at but only suffered minor injuries.
Following the deadly shootout, a high-speed chase ensued that finally came to an end in Inglewood. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says that even more shots were fired during the pursuit. Multiple reports say that the patrol car’s windshield was sprayed with bullets.
YG has denied any involvement in the shooting, explaining on social media:
“I was nowhere near the scene of this incident, I was in Hollywood recording in the studio all day. I was there until after midnight on the 4th of July and didn’t learn of these events until after they happened!”
