Beyoncé Celebrates 20th Anniversary Of Destiny’s Child’s “The Writings On The Wall”

Beyoncé celebrates the 20-year anniversary of the legendary group, Destiny’s Child album “The Writing’s On The Wall” on her official website. Mrs. Carter featured a throwback picture of Kelly Roland, LaToya Luckett, and LaTavia Robinson who made an explosive debut in 1998 with their self-titled album, and quickly returned back to the studio to record their sophomore album which gave fans hit after hit. The album debut at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 while the hits kept coming including “Say My Name,” “Bills, Bills, Bills” and “Bug-A-Boo.”

The ladies sophomore release album took a more empowering anthem that gave women advice about knowing their worth. They enlisted hitmakers like Missy Elliott and Rodney Darkchild” Jerkins for the album’s production.

Beyonce shared several behind the scenes photos from video and photo shoots during that time.

As one of the group’s most notable singles, “Say My Name” remains Destiny’s Child’s second-longest running No. 1 hit, and proves that twenty years of longevity is was the beginning.

The group would ultimately see Luckett and Roberson leave and Michelle Williams replaced both members.
