One insider tells The Sun,
“Beyonce’s deal with Disney for The Lion King was one of the biggest it has done to date. Now they want to expand it by giving her free reign to create her own movies under the Disney umbrella. The conversations are ongoing but it’s an exciting proposition.”
Beyonce not only co-starred in The Lion King but also released a Lion King-inspired soundtrack, The Gift.
Interestingly enough, she reportedly only had 35 lines in the movie. The movie itself didn’t waste time in lunging to success. It’s almost at the $1 billion mark globally after being in the theater for three weeks.
The movie also starred James Earl Jones, who returned for his iconic role as Mufasa, as well as Donald Glover, Alfre Woodard and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
