Kanye West is taking his talents international. The 42-year-old singer is taking his Sunday Service to Kingston, Jamaica in celebration of their Heroes’ Weekend. The event will take place at today (Oct. 18th), at at Emancipation Park in New Kingston beginning at 7:00 pm. This is the first time that Kanye has taken the service outside of the U.S.
Kanye’s team has been working closely with the Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange. Grange noted that this is the first time Sunday Service will be hosted outside of the United States and Kanye “couldn’t have chosen a better country than Jamaica”.
She said her ministry is pleased to facilitate the performance in the country as it supports the Government’s programme to establish Jamaica as the preferred destination for music and sport events.
The Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport is working closely with the Jamaica Tourist Board; the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency; the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation and other government entities to ensure the success of the event.
On January 6, 2019, Kanye started his weekly “Sunday Service” orchestration which includes soul variations of both Kanye and others’ songs attended by multiple celebrities including the Kardashians, Charlie Wilson, and Kid Cudi. He previewed new song, “Water” at his “Sunday Service” orchestration performance at weekend 2 of Coachella.
