Lakers’ DeMarcus Cousins – Criminal Charges Dropped
Los Angeles Lakers center, DeMarcus Cousins has faced charges of third-degree harassing communication for his alleged verbal threats against his ex-girlfriend. According to reports on Friday (Nov. 22nd), the Lakers center will no longer face any of charges as the misdemeanor case has been dismissed. Cousins attorney, Moshae Donald made the announcement on Friday. He says,
“I am pleased to announce all criminal charges against DeMarcus Cousins have been dropped. The case is dismissed and Mr. Cousins is looking forward to moving onward with his life and career as a professional basketball player.”

A warrant for Cousins’ arrest was filed in a county court in Mobile, Alabama, in August following allegations by Christy West, the ex-girlfriend and mother of their 7-year-old child. West had alleged that Cousins threatened to shoot her during an argument regarding their son. An audio recording was released of the pair and a voice appearing to be Cousins threatened his ex-girlfriend asking her,
“I’m gonna ask you this one more time before I take it to another level. Can I have my son here, please?

When she responded no, he stated:
“I’m gonna make sure I put a bullet in your f*cking head.”
No additional details about the case have been released.
