Tekashi 6ix9ine Sentenced To 2 Years In Prison, 5 Years Supervised Release
Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has been handed two years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
He was initially looking at 47 years behind bars, however, due to his infamous extensive testimony and police cooperation, Tekashi was rumored to have been eligible for immediate release upon his sentencing. But a judge decided against that Wednesday (Dec. 18) and sentenced him to two additional years behind bars, five years of supervised release, 300 hours of community service, and a $35K fine. The Inner City Press official Twitter account detailed the judge’s ruling.

Judge Engelmayer also revealed that aside from his testimony, Tekashi worked extensively with the government advising his gang’s code words to have members convicted.

Tekashi 6ix9ine was once known for his colorful hair and Nicki Minaj collaboration. But he’s now the subject of public debate regarding testimony vs snitching. After being arrested in November of 2018 on federal racketeering charges, his controversial no-holds-barred testimony led to the arrest of several of his own friends and crew members. Anthony “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack, fellow members of the Nine Trey Bloods gang, were found guilty of conspiracy this past October. Tekashi 6ix9ine also alleged gang affiliations from rappers Cardi B and Jim Jones as a normalizing tactic.
After once denying all charges, Tekashi 6ix9ine pleaded guilty to nine federal counts of racketeering.
Prior to the infamous arrest, Tekashi 6ix9ine (real name, Daniel Hernandez) was held at gunpoint and kidnapped by Ellison and Mack, but due to his being in cahoots with them – reports showed he faced up to 47 years behind bars.
In previous reports, Tekashi detailed that he planned to return to music after serving his time, and would deny the opportunity to submit to a witness protection program.
