The show was titled RuPaul and was produced by Telepictures, with the goal to officially launch fall 2019.
The show featured a modern take on the talk format and aired on select Fox TV stations, including WNYW in New York and KTTV in Los Angeles.
RuPaul stated at the time:
“Now more than ever before we need a global voice that will help everyday people navigate this unique time in history. Not only do I want to be a part of that conversation, I want to help facilitate it.”
RuPaul was executive produced by Jill Van Lokeren (Michelle Obama’s “Becoming” book tour, The Oprah Winfrey Show), Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato and Tom Campbell for World of Wonder, and produced by Telepictures, a unit of Warner Bros. Unscripted & Alternative Television.
Other new talk shows that launched in the fall and have been renewed include Kelly Clarkson and Tamron Hall.
No word as to why it will not be heading into syndication. [Entertainment Tonight]
