#FreeAaliyahMusic Trends On Twitter As Fans Push Her Catalogue To Be Released On Streaming Platforms
While platforms like Apple Music, Spotify and TIDAL feature libraries from thousands of artists, Aaliyah’s music still has yet to surface.
Her uncle Barry Hankerson, whose label Blackground Records, owns her catalogue (except for her debut album) appeared to hint that he would be released on digital streaming platforms back in December. He teased a date of Jan. 16 2020, which would have been her 41st birthday.

But now that months have passed since the promised date, with no sign of if or when her music will be digitally available, fans have taken to Twitter to call it out. The hashtag #FreeAaliyahMusic was trending Monday morning (March 30), in response.
