It has been over a year since model Kim Porter passed away and Diddy (real name Sean Combs) is making sure that her memory lives on. Diddy, who is Kim Porter’s ex and the father of three of her children, showed fellow rapper Fat Joe a monument at his home that was made in Kim’s honor. Diddy also reflects on the relationship he had with Kim and what he’s learned after losing someone he loved so much. In the video Diddy says,
“This is a special announcement and PSA to all, to all the playas all the playboys, when you find that one don’t be playing around with it because it’s rare somebody that is gonna understand you and be there for you unconditionally. Sometimes you could be in the game getting hot, you just want to experience everything. I definitely as a man feel like I f***ed up on that. I feel like she was the one for me and I played around thinking that I’m running things, god is running things. He changed me as a man to be able to appreciate love.”

Kim Porter passed away November 15, 2018 at the age of 47.
Her unexpected cause of death was found to be lobar pneumonia according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Porter was laid to rest in her hometown of Columbus, GA November 24, 2018.
Diddy and Porter dated off-and-on from 1994 to 2007. She and Diddy shared three biological children; son Christian, and twin girls D’Lila Star and Jessie James. Diddy also adopted Kim’s son Quincy Brown, from her previous relationship with singer Al B. Sure.
In March of 2019, Diddy shared what he said was a milestone between him and Porter. Captioning a throwback photo of the pair he wrote,
“I remember Kim flying to see me on the set of can’t nobody hold me down. She took like a 12 hour flight to LA and 3 hour ride to the desert. With no complaints. Was always ride or die. From day 1! I called her BONNIE AND I WAS CLYDE! This picture will go down in history as the first time I said she was MINE!!!! AND THE FIRST TIME I TOLD HER I LOVE HER, little did I know I was hers. Miss you BONNIE and will forever. Maaaaan life is beautiful to have had these experiences. Love you baby. @ladykp“
It didn’t take long for critics at the time to jump in the comments and question Diddy for not tying the knot with Porter. He told one fan,
“Just didn’t happen. That had nothing to do with the love.”
He also told another fan that he was scared to marry Kim. On what would have been her 49th birthday (December 15, 2019), Diddy shared a beautiful, heartfelt video tribute to Kim Porter. In the video, Diddy and Porter are all smiles in throwback clips of the pair singing and dancing with each other. Diddy wrote,
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY KIM
Words can’t explain how much we miss you but today is your birthday. We’re celebrating you today! We love and we miss you!!!!!”

Earlier this year, Diddy shared a similar message posting a photo of Kim smiling from ear to ear on Jan. 22. In the caption, he warned his male followers:
“If you got a good woman please let her know. Tell her as soon as you can. Make sure she knows. Make sure she feels it. HONOR HER. CHERISH HER. Cause the special ones are RARE and FEW.”
