Ludacris Addresses Backlash From R.Kelly Lyrics: People Kinda Misconstrued Or Didn’t Really Understand
Recently American rappers Ludacris and Nelly took to Instagram live to battle each other during their Verzuz showdown.
As we previously reported, Ludacris, born Christopher Brian Bridges, received some backlash from the battle after he previewed an unreleased song which featured the line
“I love R.Kelly but around my daughters, I’m not comfortable.”

Well, it looks like the ‘Rollout’ rapper is ready to address the outrage some people appeared to have due to the lyric.
During a conversation with radio personality Big Tigger, Ludacris spoke on the infamous line from the unreleased track.
“Sometimes when you speak on records you’re speaking like it’s just me and you having a conversation as friends but it’s just – you just speaking and just being honest,” Ludacris said. “I saw that a lot of people kinda misconstrued or didn’t really understand what it was that I was saying.”
Ludacris then asked Big Tigger what did he think he meant by the R.Kelly line.
“You probably meant I love [R. Kelly’s] music and what he brought to the table,” Big Tigger said. “ But I’m a father of daughters and yea, nah, you not go be around my daughters.”
Ludacris seemed to agree with his friend’s viewpoint and responded:
“You a smart man, bruh. It’s that simple. It’s that simple – It’s nothing else to put to it. It’s that simple.”
