Kelis Teases New Music!

Kelis is finally going to be coming out with some new music, and her fans couldn’t be more excited.  British music duo Disclosure is dropping their new album ‘ENERGY’ on Friday, Aug. 28th and the duo pulled on the likes of some big names to be featured on the project including, Kelis, Kehlani, Aminé, Common and many more.  The duo consists of brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence, their official website https://www.disclosureofficial.com posted the photo, saying that the name of the song is called “Watch your step ft. Kelis.” They also announced collaborations with other artists for the album as well.

Kelis has kept her fans waiting for new music. She also kept fans in the dark for many years about her alleged violent relationship with her ex-husband, rapper Nas.   The former couple filed for divorce in 2009 and had a very public custody battle, which included Nas claiming Kelis was keeping him away from their son. Kelis recently opened about allegedly being abused by her former husband,

“It was really dark. There was a lot of drinking. There was a lot of mental and physical abuse. I probably would have stayed longer had I not been pregnant [with Knight] because I really did love him and because we were married. We weren’t dating, we were married. Like, this was my person.”

She continued,

“I’ve waited nine years to say anything. I have never talked about this man, ever. The amount of airing out that I could do, and I’ve chosen not to … Our kids will find out. They’re finding out now. I’ve never painted myself as a saint. Did he hit me? Mhm. Did I hit him back? Mhm.

She also added that she had bruises all over her body,

“I remember so clearly when the [Rihanna] pictures came out … ‘cause I [also] had bruises all over my body at that time.”
