19-Year-Old Black Lives Matter Protester, Oluwatoyin Salau, Found Dead After Going Missing For A Week
Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Salau, a 19-year-old Black Lives Matter protestor has died. The Tallahassee Police Department identified Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Salau as a murder victim after a week of searching for her as a missing person.
At each demonstration she attended, Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Salau recited the names of black people killed, such as Tony McDade of Tallahassee and George Floyd of Minneapolis, chanting during a protest in front of the Tallahassee Police Department last month:
“I don’t want their names gone in vain”
On Sunday (June 14th), it was reported that two bodies were found near Monday Road in Tallahassee, and speculation began online that Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Salau was one of the victims.

Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Salau was one of two homicide victims discovered Saturday night in southeast Tallahassee, a couple of miles from where she was last seen at a library off Orange Avenue and Wahnish Way.
The police and her family confirmed her death Monday morning (June 15th). Her brother Oluwaseyi Salau said,
“There is no justice that can be served that will replace my sister’s life”
Danaya Hemphill, 22, Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Salau’s friend saw her friend the day before she went missing and said she was optimistic, she would return alive.
“I had a feeling that we were not going to find Toyin alive.”
Danaya Hemphill describes her friend as a “light in a dark room,
“Toyin was very passionate. She was very vocal she was very loving, very spiritual, very caring. Toyin, she was like a light in a dark room. That was Toyin.”
Police also say the suspect in this case, 49-year-old Aaron Glee Jr., has been arrested. The other victim in the double murder was 75-year-old Victoria “Vicki” Sims, according to TPD.

Victoria “Vicki” Sims
The department said in a statement,
“Both names have been released with permission of their families in accordance with Marsy’s Law.”
Victoria “Vicki” Sims, 75, was the second murder victim, she was a retired state worker and grandmother well-known for her volunteerism and work in local Democratic politics.

Aaron Glee, Jr. mugshot
Aaron Glee Jr. was arrested May 29 on a charge of aggravated battery after an officer stopped him at a light at Blair Stone Road and Kay Avenue. He was seen kicking a woman in the stomach, according to police reports.
“The woman told police she and Glee had been drinking alcohol together and were walking down the sidewalk when he propositioned her for sex.
“She told him no so Glee became angry, shoved (her) to the ground and began kicking her in the abdomen.”
A misdemeanor battery charge was filed against him on June 6, and the victim in that case was neither Sims nor Salau.
Sending heartfelt condolences to the families of Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Salau and Victoria “Vicki” Sims.
