Rapper Scarface Is Recovering From COVID-19 Nearly 3 Months Later: It Knocked Out My Kidneys, They Never Came Back
Houston native Brad ‘Scarface’ Jordan is still recovering from his COVID-19 diagnosis in late March. During an interview with his Geto Boys group member Willie D on March 27th, the 49-year-old artist revealed that he tested positive for the coronavirus.
“It’s the craziest sh*t I’ve ever done and seen in my life. I’ve been to the point where I felt I was gonna die, bro. I threw up so much until it was like hot, hot sauce. Like your gases and shit from your stomach. I didn’t have no food in my stomach, it was coming up like vile. I couldn’t breathe, Will.”
To his viewers, he stated:
“Don’t play no games with it. I haven’t been nowhere. I’ve been in my house. I ain’t been on no planes, I ain’t been in no restaurants… People out there thinking this shit is a game? You don’t want to play with this.”

A month later (April 27), Scarface updated the public on his health. He revealed that he was on dialysis, due to kidney failure, from coronavirus. He said:
“I’m glad to be alive. I fought COVID double bilateral pneumonia – both lungs – and kidney failure in my house.”
Scarface also revealed that he had just returned home from the hospital:
“just got out of the hospital Monday.”
He added:
I gotta do dialysis four days a week, three hours a day. That’s taking all my blood out, cleaning it and putting it back in my body.”
The “Mr. Scarface” rapper admitted that since his diagnosis, he has lost almost 30 pounds.
“Hanging on that string of death makes you really appreciate life. I was inches away from death.”
Now, two months later, Scarface is still fighting for his life while he recovers. Because of how badly the virus has affected his kidneys, he now has to do dialysis every day. He said in a recent interview,
“COVID attacked my lungs first, and then it attacked my kidneys and knocked them out. I got full lung recovery, but my kidneys never came back.”
The rapper told the news outlet that although he is not experiencing shortness of breath, he does, however, find it difficult to walk long distances.
“I’m still a little weak. I don’t have a lot of strength in my legs yet. I still haven’t got full taste back and sense of smell yet. But I am glad to be alive.”
We continue to send our prayers to those affected by the pandemic.
