Made In America Festival Postponed Until 2021
Yet another festival has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Philadelphia’s annual Made In America Festival provided an update to hopeful participants and attendees of the event via Instagram Wednesday (July 1st). It said in a written statement,
“We are in a pivotal time in this nation’s history. Collectively, we are fighting parallel pandemics, COVID19, systematic racism and police brutality. Now is the time to protect the health of our artists, fans, partners and community as well as focus our support for organizations and individuals fighting for social justice and equality in our country.”
The festival continues and confirms that the event is canceled until next fall.
“Therefore, the Made In America Festival will be rescheduled for Labor Day Weekend 2021. We look forward to working alongside the Mayor’s office and returning to the wonderful city of Philadelphia next year.”
Major music festivals Coachella and SXSW Music Festival have also been pushed back to 2021 due to the
pandemic. Coachella, which usually takes place in Los Angeles each April was initially rescheduled for this October but was ultimately canceled after multiple confirmed coronavirus cases in the Coachella Valley area.
SXSW also laid off nearly 60 of its employees due to not being insured for this level of a health scare.
