Rihanna Addresses New Album: Everything Is So Heavy, I’m Using Music As My Outlet
Rihanna fans have not let up from diligently asking when they can expect music from iconic star, and she’s even answered in the past, expressing that she would never neglect her music even though she’s spread her focuses on other projects such as her FENTY and FENTY X SAVAGE makeup and lingerie line.
In the past Rihanna stated in part,
“‘R9’ has been affected tremendously over the years, basically, because I’ve got other babies to turn to and so it’s not all of my attention on one. But I love making music so I never neglect it.”

Now, the singer is addressing her music and asking herself questions such as:
“What do I feel personally? What do I want to put out, and as an artist, how do I want to play it with my art? How do I want to interpret that? How do I want to reimagine it because it’s been so structured before?”
As an artist, Rihanna is highly decorated, earning Grammy awards in multiple genres. The R&B pop star released her last album “ANTI” in 2016 and has spent the last four years charting Billboard 200, according to reports.
Now, the singer turned designer states:
“You do pop, you did this genre, you do that, you do radio, but now it’s just like, what makes me happy? I just want to have fun with music. Everything is so heavy. The world that we live in is a lot. It’s overwhelming every single day. And with the music, I’m using that as my outlet.”
Though her last album release was in 2016, she has still featured top-charting hits in collaboration with other artists like DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Loyalty,” N.E.R.D.’s “Lemon” and Future’s “Selfish.”
In the wake of a global pandemic, production across every level has become more of a challenge. Even still, Rihanna intends to push forward, expressing
“I want to go on tour but I can’t, so I’m stuck with music that I love, and now I’m trying to figure out how I can even create visuals to that. That’s a challenge as well. But I love challenges so, you know, I’m gonna get it done.”
