Trailer Released For Wendy Williams Biopic
Radio-turned- Television Personality Wendy Williams has made a name for herself documenting the highs and lows of celebrities while asking bold questions with a signature New York accent and a “How you doin ?” The successful producer and businesswoman can now add another accomplishment to her checklist– a new biopic.

On December 3rd Wendy Williams announced on the Wendy Show her new movie would air on January 30th on the Lifetime Television network entitled: “Wendy Williams: The Movie”.

The movie will follow the ups and downs of the radio personality, detailing difficulties in her career, a messy divorce with ex-husband Kevin Hunter, a drug problem, and more.

Wendy watched the trailer for the first time alongside her audience and gave her reaction:
“She looks and acts so much like me like she got it.”
The “her “she was referring to is actress Cierra Payton who was cast as the lead of Wendy Williams.

Other notable names within the film also include Morocco Omari, from P-Valley and Empire, who plays Williams’ ex-husband Kevin Hunter.

The film is directed by Darren Grant, a famous Hollywood presence who has directed more than 80 music videos. He’s also been a part of several projects including, Tyler Perry’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005) and Make It Happen starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead (2008). The film is executive-produced by Williams and will premier Saturday, Jan. 30 at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
