Salt-N-Pepa Will Receive The Lifetime Achievement Award During The 2021 Grammys
Congratulations are in order for the musical duo Salt-N-Pepa, who will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Salt-N-Pepa is an American hip-hop girl group that was formed in 1985. The group consists of Cheryl James (Salt) and Sandra Denton (Pepa). Famous DJ Spinderella, born Deidra Muriel Roper, once was the DJ for the group until she announced in 2019 that she had been terminated.

Salt-N-Pepa are no strangers to the Grammys. They have been nominated for the Recording Academy award several times and won the 1995 Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for their song None of Your Business. According to the Grammy’s website, the Lifetime Achievement Award is given to
“performers who, during their lifetimes, have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.”
Other artists who will be joining Salt-N-Pepa and also receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award will be Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, Lionel Hampton, Marilyn Horne, Selena, and Talking Heads.
