Nick Cannon Returns To His Radio Show Months After Controversy Over Anti-Semitic Comments
Nick Cannon is getting his life back.
The media personality has returned to his radio show on Merulo Media’s Power 106 in Los Angeles after being on hiatus since July 2020.
His break came after he made comments on his Cannon’s Class podcast that were deemed as hate speech and anti-semitic. He later apologized, stating he felt “ashamed.”
While his remarks started a messy battle with CBS/Viacom, he was also sidelined from his radio show. Now, he’s back.
He said during his return Friday, Feb. 19th,
“I am back and ready to lift you up in the mornings and bring joy at the crack of dawn with original comedy and candid conversation! Tough times don’t last, but tough people do – and I am grateful for my supporters, friends and loved ones who have guided me through this journey these past few months. We grow through challenges and lessons together, but emerge better on the other side.”

Merulo Media President and CEO Otto Padron also said in a statement,
“Nick Cannon is the consummate entertainer and more demanding on himself than on anyone else! His newly revamped and creatively turbo-charged local morning show will bring much needed comedic entertainment to LA mornings like only Nick can. Reunited with Teddy, Melissa, and J Carisma, Nick will deliver a uniquely Los Angeles-centric morning show fitting of our iconic Power 106 flagship!”
His return comes after the announcement that his syndicated daytime talk show will premiere this fall after being delayed because of the comments. He previously said of the upcoming show,
“It’s been a longtime dream of mine to host my own daytime talk show and that I’m able to do this in New York City, bringing daytime television back to the place that has fostered generations of talent, is very special to me. With this show, we’ll be uniting all aspects of entertainment in a unique way in the very place where a lot of what we know today as our culture started. I couldn’t ask for better partners than Debmar-Mercury and Fox and thank them for supporting me in this endeavor.”
His Wild N Out series will also return after he was able to settle things with Viacom.
