Vanessa Bryant Reflects On Her Grief Since Losing Kobe And Gianna: I Can’t Say That I’m Strong Every Day
Vanessa Bryant has recently opened up about how she’s been since the untimely death of her husband Kobe Bryant and their 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant. As previously reported, Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant passed away last year, on January 26, due to a helicopter crash that also killed seven others. During an interview with PEOPLE Magazine, Vanessa Bryant revealed that she has days where she doesn’t know if she’ll make it. She said,
“I can’t say that I’m strong every day. I can’t say that there aren’t days when I feel like I can’t survive to the next.”
She continued and shared that her daughters (Natalia, 18, Bianka, 4, and 20-month-old Capri) have been a huge inspiration for her to keep pushing forward.
“This pain is unimaginable [but] you just have to get up and push forward. Lying in bed crying isn’t going to change the fact that my family will never be the same again. But getting out of bed and pushing forward is going to make the day better for my girls and for me. So that’s what I do.”

Vanessa Bryant also shared that her late husband and daughter motivate her to not give up as well.
“I guess the best way to describe it is that Kobe and Gigi motivate me to keep going. They inspire me to try harder and be better every day. Their love is unconditional and they motivate me in so many different ways.”
She continued and said that she’s focusing on “finding the light in darkness.”
She added,
“My girls help me smile through the pain. They give me strength. I want to make Kobe, Gigi, Natalia, Bianka and Capri proud.”

Vanessa Bryant recently made headlines after she addressed a controversial lyric from Meek Mill that referenced the fatal helicopter crash that involved her family members and seven other victims. In a song that surfaced online Meek Mill raps,
“Yeah, and if I ever lack, I’m goin’ out with my chopper, it be another Kobe.”
Vanessa Bryant responded to the lyric via Instagram and wrote,
“Dear Meek Mill, I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period.”

Meek Mill has since issued an apology.
