Posthumous DMX Album Announced, Will Be Available May 28th
Recently-departed rapper DMX will grace his fans with a posthumous, collaborative album with Swizz Beatz.
DMX (real name Earl Simmons) passed away on April 9th, 2021, leaving hip-hop heads from all over the world in mourning. He was laid to rest in late April.
However, earlier today (Monday, May 10th) via Instagram, news broke that the dearly departed rapper would have one more album released: Exodus.

The announcement was made via Instagram by Swizz Beatz, Def Jam Records, Ruff Ryders and DMX‘s profile. All four aforementioned accounts appear to have posted the news at around the same time. Per the announcements, Exodus is scheduled to drop later this month (May 28th) and is apparently a collaborative work between DMX and Swizz Beatz.
Fans are not only excited over Exodus being a posthumous album, but they’re also thrilled about it being the first DMX album since 2012. Additionally, since the work is being produced by both Ruff Ryders and Def Jam Records, Exodus will be DMX‘s first album released with Def Jam in about 18 years.
Hopefully, this album will prove to be a comfort to DMX‘s grieving fans–particularly considering the album is entirely made up of unreleased tracks!
Exodus will be available beginning May 28th.
