Meghan McCain Gets Into Heated Exchange With ‘The View’ Co-Hosts: Why Are You Cutting Me Off?!

Meghan McCain & Whoopi Goldberg Get Into Heated Exchange On ‘The View’: Why Are You Cutting Me Off?!
Things got heated between co-host Meghan McCain and Whoopi Goldberg yesterday [May 24th] on ‘The View’. The pair were discussing controversial comments made by Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, in which she compared mask mandates to the Holocaust, the genocide of 6 million European Jews during World War 2.
While conservative panelist Meghan McCain was rattled off recent incidents involving antisemitism, Whoopi Goldberg attempted to go to a scheduled commercial break. Whoopi Goldberg said:
“We’re going to go to a break and when we come back you can continue talking, but now we’re going to break.”
Meghan McCain visibly became agitated, and it appeared as if she took Whoopi Goldberg’s attempt to take a scheduled commercial break as a personal attack. McCain said:
“Why are you cutting me off?!”
Goldberg fired back with:
“I’m cutting you off because we have to go, Meghan, why do you think I’m cutting you off?!”

After ‘The View’ returned from the commercial break, McCain clashed with co-host Joy Behar over the same antisemitic topic.
In an effort to close out her point, McCain compared parties and the unfair perceptions and treatment her constituents receive, stating,
“antisemitism when manifested by the right is easier to see than when it appears on the left.”
Joy Behar, who has previously praised Democrats for their efforts to combat antisemitism, told McCain she resented her comments.
In response, McCain said:
“Well, I resent a lot of things, so we’re even.”
Joy Behar replied,
“I’ve been talking about antisemitism on this show for 25 years. Don’t tell me what I’m supposed to be saying, Meghan. You do your thing, we do ours.”
McCain responded:
“I’m not telling you what you’re supposed to say. I’m well aware we do separate things on the show Joy. And I know you’ve been here for 25 years and I’ve been here four.”
Behar told her,
“That’s right, and you should have some respect for that once in a blue moon.”
As the show’s moderator, Goldberg ended the discussion with this statement:
“Nobody wants anybody arguing…We would like everybody to stop comparing stuff, conflating stuff, or saying stupid stuff, whether you’re on the left or right or in the center. We like to focus people’s ideas on making a better world.”
