Rapper Napoleon Alleges Jada Pinkett Smith Told Tupac Not To Fight Her Now-Husband, Will Smith, Once They Started Dating
It’s no secret that Jada Pinkett Smith was really close with the late rapper Tupac Shakur before his passing. During a recent interview with The Art Of Dialogue, rapper Napoleon, born Mutah Beale, shared that the pair was so close that Jada Pinkett Smith had to tell the ‘Keep Ya Head Up’ rapper not to fight her now-husband, Will Smith when they initially started dating. According to Napoleon, Jada told Tupac, who was allegedly upset at the time, to keep his hands off of Will Smith. Napoleon also claimed that he doesn’t think Tupac actually wanted to fight Will Smith but for some reason, Jada thought there was tension between the two entertainers.
He said,
“The second time I probably heard [Tupac] talk about [Jada] is when he went to LA. He was very upset. Pac came in the room [and] was like ‘Jada, she gonna contact me and tell me don’t do nothing to Will Smith.’ Pac was upset, and said ‘I don’t know why she think I would have tried to make some problems with Will Smith. ‘ He had a lot of love for Jada Pinkett at the time.”
As previously reported, Will Smith has shared last year during a chat on The Breakfast Club how insecure he was about his wife’s relationship with Tupac. He said,
“That was in the early days. That was a big regret for me too ’cause I could never open up to interact with Pac.”
He continued,
“We had a little bit of a thing because they grew up together and they loved each other but they never had a sexual relationship. But they had come into that age where now that was a possibility and then Jada was with me. So Pac had a little thing on that, but she just loved him. He was the image of perfection, but she was with the Fresh Prince.”
He added,
“We were in the room together a couple of times, I couldn’t speak to him. And you know, he wasn’t gonna speak to me if I wasn’t gonna speak to him.”
“[Jade] was like ‘I’m telling you, y’all are so similar. You would love him.’ And I would just never… I’m telling you that was a huge regret of mine. I just couldn’t handle it. I was the soft rapper from Philly and he was ‘Pac’ you know what I mean. I was deeply, deeply insecure. I wasn’t man enough to handle that relationship.”
