Cuba Gooding Jr. may have to pay some big bucks in a civil lawsuit against him!
This past Thursday (July 29th), Cuba Gooding Jr. was found liable in a civil suit against a woman who accused the actor of rape. The alleged victim filed a civil lawsuit against Cuba Gooding Jr. exactly a year ago (August 2nd, 2020). However, the actor has largely ignored the legal action against him.
Due to his lack of involvement and failure to respond to the suit, the judge has found him liable. However, Cuba Gooding Jr. has until September to make a move – that’s when the judge is making a decision regarding the damages that should be paid. The woman has requested $6 million.
The alleged crime dates back to eight years ago. The woman accused Cuba Gooding Jr. of raping her in a hotel room back in 2013.
In addition to this woman, several others have emerged to accuse Cuba Gooding Jr. of sexual assault. On top of his civil lawsuits, the actor is also facing criminal charges. In total, he’s been hit with six misdemeanor sexual assault charges. While he remains quiet in the civil suit, Cuba Gooding Jr. has pleaded not guilty to the criminal accusations against him.
