Now, a security guard who worked the disastrous event is coming out with grievances of his own. According to a report by Radar Online, one Astroworld Festival guard has stepped forward with claims that no security personnel have been paid yet. The man, Jackson Bush, says the guards were promised a pay rate of $17 an hour to work the festival–set to be paid through Apply Pay rather than a physical check. However, Jackson Bush says no payments have come through yet.
He also dished on the poor planning that went into the event, saying:
“I believe if we were all prepared the right way, that stuff would not have happened the way it did. Honestly, even with the amount of people that passes and went unconscious… the amount of injuries could have been avoided.”
Additionally, Jackson Bush went on to reveal that no background checks were conducted, meaning the guards ranged in experience and training with the job.
