Sofia Urista Apologizes After Urinating On A Male Fan During A Concert: I Pushed The Limits Too Far
Sophia Urista has issued an apology after urinating on a fan at the Welcome to Rockville Music Festival.
Sophia Urista is the frontwoman for New York-based cover band Brass Against. The songwriter and singer was also a contestant on season 11 of “The Voice” in 2016.
While performing at the music festival in Daytona on Nov. 11th, she told the crowd she needed to “relieve” herself. She then brought a male fan onto the stage and instructed him to lie down, before urinating on him as she performed a rendition of Rage Against the Machine’s “Wake Up.” She later apologized for her actions.
She wrote on social media,
“Hey everyone. I want to speak to my performance at Rockville metal festival in Daytona.
I have always pushed the limits on music and on stage. That night, I pushed the limits too far.
I love my family, the band, and the fans more than anything and I know some were hurt or offended by what I did. I apologize to them and want them to know I didn’t mean to hurt them.
I am not a shock artist. I always want to put my music first. I’m grateful for all your love and support.”

Fans flooded the comments with messages of support for the singer. One wrote,
“It’s rock and roll baby! it’s fine!!”
Actress Kat Cunning wrote,
“I have always revered and been thrilled by the boundaries you push as a performance artist and rock star. I also appreciate grace of this statement. Ur a beast in a good way and a prince in my heart.”
Sofia Urista’s band members also commented to show support.
