Paula Patton Has Always Been Proud to Be Black

Paula Patton (who is married to Robin Thicke) covers the latest November 2011 issue of Jezebel Magazine. In the issue, Patton talks being bi-racial and acting alongside Tom Cruise in the latest Mission Impossible.
On Getting The Lead Role:
“The truth is that I really didn’t think that I was going to get it. I remember them calling me and asking me to come in and read for the director, and I was like, ‘Come on, guys, don’t waste my time!’”
Her Reaction On The Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
“I just got to see the movie finally, a week ago, and I was blown away…It is very gritty and, somehow, the most impossible seems possible in the coolest way.”

On Growing Up Bi-Racial:
“I remember in high school I felt uncomfortable in revealing to have a white boyfriend. I am a black-skinned and I have been told a thousand times: “You think, therefore, to be better than us?” I have always stressed to feel proud of being black. Never said to be mixed or other such things.”
