Travis Scott Is Working With City Officials To Enforce Concert Safety Amid Astroworld Aftermath

Travis Scott is on a mission to right some of his wrongs.

Rapper Travis Scott reportedly wants to change the way concerts are organized from now. According to an outlet, he’s pulling all of his resources together to prevent another Astroworld catastrophe.

Sources say that Travis is teaming up with The United States Conference of Mayors (USCM), which serves as the voice of over 1,400 cities across the nation. They’ve been meeting for a few weeks.

With their new project, they hope to create a panel that consists of government, public safety, emergency response, health care event management, music, and technology. They also would like to have a safety report in place to boost safety and security at concerts.

Travis hinted at doing something like this in the future during his interview with The Breakfast Club host Charlamagne tha God.

The outline for the plan allegedly reads:

“[The plan will] aggressively focus on new technologies and innovations that offer ways to address these challenges.”

The outlet’s announcement of Travis‘ latest endeavor comes 1 week after the “Sicko Mode” rapper requested to be dismissed from his Astroworld lawsuits. He’s currently facing more than 200 lawsuits with a combined total of over $1 billion. While he has expressed that he’s remorseful, he reportedly doesn’t think his name or entities–which include the Cactus Jack foundation–should be attached to the lawsuits. The court filing was allegedly one of many to come.

On Nov. 5, 2021, Travis Scott held his annual Astroworld festival in Houston. Thousands of attendees rushed the venue, resulting in a fatal crowd surge. Ten people–including a 9-year-old boy–succumbed to vital organ failure, among other serious injuries. Hundreds more were injured or traumatized by the horrific scenes they witness. Travis was accused of ignoring cries from the audience to stop the show. Many have also highlighted his history of inciting violence and chaos at his concerts.
