Beyoncé Interested In Playing ‘Storm’ In A Marvel Movie (Report)

Beyoncé Reportedly In Talks To Play ‘Storm’ In A Marvel Movie
Beyoncé might be trading her leotard for a black leather top and matching pants.
Legendary songstress icon Beyoncé allegedly had a conversation with the head of Marvel, Kevin Feige, about entering the film universe as superhero Storm. It’s unknown whether Kevin Feige has taken Beyoncé up on her reported offer or not.
Storm, also known as Ororo Munroe, is a mutant superhero with the ability to manipulate the weather. She first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1975. In the comics, she is of African descent and marries Black Panther.
Actress Halle Berry famously portrayed Storm in 20th Century Fox’s version of X-Men. She appeared in the first installment, which was released in 2000, followed by the sequels in 2003, 2006, and 2014. Halle was praised for her performance, but some fans of the original comic books were disappointed in how Wolverine (the main character) overshadowed Storm.

While Beyoncé is a well-established recording artist, she has an impressive acting resume. Her first role was in the 2001 TV movie Carmen: A Hip Hopera as the titular character, starring alongside Mekhi Phifer, Mos Def, and Rah Digga. In 2002, she appeared in Austin Powers in Goldmember as Foxxy Cleopatra. More prominent roles followed with The Fighting Temptations (2003), The Pink Panther (2006), Dreamgirls (2006), Cadillac Records (2008), and Obsessed (2009). She also has credits as a director for the films that accompany her albums such as Life Is But a Dream (2013) and Beyoncé: Lemonade (2016).

These days, Beyoncé is busy with Adidas X IVY PARK, a clothing collaboration. She’s always keeping her projects under wraps, so a Marvel film may very well be in her future.
