Bravo Fires Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Star Jennie Nguyen For Controversial Social Media Posts

‘RHOSLC’ Star Jennie Nguyen Fired By Bravo Amidst Racist Facebook Posts
It looks like Bravo has finally spoken out! ‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ star Jennifer Nguyen has been fired by the Bravo network following backlash from a series of racist and controversial social media posts. The network released a statement on Tuesday (Jan.25), confirming they have now ‘ceased filming’ with the 44-year-old reality tv star.
“Bravo has ceased filming with Jennie Nguyen and she will no longer be a cast member of ‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’.”
The statement continued,
“We recognize we failed to take appropriate action once her offensive social media posts were brought to our attention. Moving forward, we will work to improve our processes to ensure we make better informed and more thoughtful casting decisions.”

‘RHOSLC’ Cast
As previously reported, Jennie Nguyen–who’s Vietnamese–had several controversial Facebook posts from 2020 that recently resurfaced. The alleged posts were “anti-Black”, “anti-Black Lives Matter”, “pro-Trump”, “pro–Blue Lives Matter”, conspiratorial, and “anti-vaccine” related.

Fans were immediately outraged and called for Nguyen to be fired from the show. ‘Real Housewives’ franchise executive producer Andy Cohen recently addressed Jennie Nguyen’s racist Facebook posts.
“[I] just wanna say–in case anyone doesn’t realize it–that there are many serious discussions happening right now about everything. And, I can’t address the situation right now, but it will be addressed very soon, and thank you for your patience. And the posts were very upsetting, rightfully, and disgusting.”

Reportedly, 42 screenshots of insensitive posts and memes from Nguyen’s Facebook page were shared by a Reddit user. In one of her posts, she reportedly spoke negatively about George Floyd’s murder. They have since been deleted.
Shortly after the incident, Jennie Nguyen released an official statement on Instagram:
“I want to acknowledge and apologize for my deleted Facebook posts from 2020 that resurfaced today. At the time, I thought I was speaking out against violence, but I have since learned how offensive and hurtful my words were.”
She continued:
“It’s why I deactivated that account more than a year ago and why I continue to try to learn about perspectives different from my own. I regret those posts and am sincerely sorry for the pain they caused.”

Jennie Nguyen has yet to publicly comment on the firing.
