Simone Biles Says ‘You Just Know’ When Asked How She Knew Fiancé Jonathan Owens Was ‘The One’

One social media user asked,
“How did you know your fiancé was the one?”
Simone Biles replied,
“Okay so this is kind of crazy, but the day after I met him, my friends and stuff were asking me like, ‘Hey, how did it go?’ And I literally told Rachel, ‘I’m going to marry him.’ I don’t know, you just know I guess.”

Another user asked Simone Biles how she and Jonathan Owens met, a response in which Biles let Yo Gotti do the talking. Biles responded by using Yo Gotti‘s 2016 single “Down In The DM,” with the following lyrics appearing on a blank screen,
“It goes down in the DM (it go down)
It go down in the DM (it go down, it go . . .)”
Biles and Jonathan Owens began dating in March 2020 after she slid in his DM on Instagram. The two made it Instagram official in August of the same year.
As previously reported, Jonathan Owens had no idea who Biles was before they started dating, nor was he aware that she is arguably the most decorated gymnast, ever. In a previous interview on her Facebook Watch series Simone vs. Herself, he said,
“Her work ethic was really the first thing that caught my eye. I never really watched gymnastics before I first started talking to her. When I met her, I honestly didn’t know who she was. It was just kind of like, ‘Oh, she’s got a lot of followers. You know, she must be pretty good or something.”

Owens proposed to Biles on Valentine’s Day in 2022, with her saying via Instagram that it was “THE EASIEST YES” for her. She said,
“THE EASIEST YES
I can’t wait to spend forever & ever with you, you’re everything I dreamed of and more! let’s get married FIANCÉ.”
