Zoë Kravitz Receives Backlash Seemingly Calling Out Will Smith’s Oscars Slap, Social Media Users Call Her A Predator For Making Inappropriate Comments About Jaden Smith When He Was 14
Zoë Kravitz seemingly disagreed with Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars–and some internet users aren’t happy.
The Batman actress posted a red carpet picture on Instagram and captioned it:
“Here’s a picture of my dress at the award show where we are apparently assaulting people on stage now.”

She followed up with a photo from the after-party. Once again, she mentioned the on-stage slap in her caption:
“And here is a picture of my dress at the party after the award show -where we are apparently screaming profanities and assaulting people on stage now.”

Twitter users quickly dusted off a 2013 interview in which Zoë, then 24, made some questionable comments about a 14-year-old Jaden Smith.
Zoë starred alongside Will and his son in the sci-fi film After Earth, which premiered that same year.
During the interview, the actress appeared to be smitten by her younger co-star. She spoke highly of him and revealed that they spent time together behind the scenes. The quote that’s making its rounds on social media reads:
“There were moments that I was hanging out with Jaden and thinking, ‘I can’t believe you’re 14, I have to check myself, like what I say to you,’”
She continued:
“He has so much personality and so much swag, he is so much cooler than I am. And he’s so handsome, I was always like, ‘When you’re older, you know, we’ll hang out…Nope, that’s inappropriate, you’re 14.’”

A video of the two on the red carpet for the Divergent premiere in 2014 has also resurfaced. In it, Zoë refers to Jaden as her “date” and the “love of her life.” She stated that she texted him and invited him to the event.
