Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation Donates $1 Million In Scholarships To 100 HBCU Students

Travis Scott recently awarded a generous seven-figure donation to college students struggling financially to walk across the stage!

On Tuesday (May 17), Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation announced that it recently awarded a sum of $1 million in scholarships to college students who were on track to graduate but faced financial hardships in the second semester of their senior year. Travis Scott’s donations went to seniors at 38 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) this year. Each recipient finished their final semester with at least a 3.5 GPA. The sum was divided and then issued to 100 students, with the soon-to-be grads each getting a $10,000 scholarship.

Some of the HBCUs the scholarship winners attended were Alabama A&M University, Central State University, Jackson State University, Morehouse College, Texas Southern University, Grambling State University, Xavier University of Louisiana, and Prairie View A&M University.

The scholarship comes from the rapper’s Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund, named after his grandfather Waymon Webster who was an educator at HBCU Prairie View A&M University — where Scott was also a student. Jordan Webster, Scott’s sister, and project manager for Cactus Jack Foundation’s Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund, just graduated from the well-known HBCU Howard University earlier this month.
