Fat Joe has no problem giving Lil Wayne his flowers!
In a recent episode of LeBron James’ series “The Shop: Uninterrupted” Fat Joe, 51, born Joseph Cartagena, was asked who is the best he has ever seen at writing raps in the studio. Where he answered:
“I don’t want nobody to kill me, but the best [at rapping in the studio is] Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne taught me.”
He continued:
“So what happens is. Lil Wayne took up from where Tupac [left off], where he was putting out two albums a year. This guy was never in the club he was the number one artist in the world, he was just in that studio in – that Hit Factory – in that studio.”

Fat Joe added:
“So I was privy to be in there with Wayne cause I live in Miami. He would just get a beat, and the guy starts sparring with the speaker. I’ve never seen no sh*t like this.”
Fat Joe then reenacted a time she witnessed the “Mr. Carter” rapper do his thing in the booth. He continued,
“I was like ‘holy f*ck, this guy took the record.”
He added,
“He’s a beast.”

With lyrics being called into question Fat Joe recently backed the ‘Rap Music on Trial Bill,’ which aims to restrict rap lyrics from being used in criminal cases. As previously reported, on Tuesday (May 17), New York State’s Senate passed the bill that would limit song lyrics from being used as evidence in criminal cases. Under the bill, prosecutors would have to prove that the lyrics are literal, rather than figurative.
