Lil Wayne Denied Entry Into The UK, Forced To Cancel London Festival Performance
Lil Wayne won’t be eating English strawberries this weekend.
Border authorities recently denied rap legend Lil Wayne’s entry into the UK forcing him to cancel his performance at London’s “Strawberries & Creem” festival on Saturday (June 18). According to the Home Office, he was barred from entering Europe due to a “last minute decision.”

Lil Wayne, 39, was the headlining artist of the London festival, with this being his first show in the country in over a decade.
Ludacris has been set to replace Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., at the festival.
On Wednesday (June 15) organizers of the festival released and apology on their website:
“Due to extreme circumstances beyond our control or influence, we are very sorry to inform you that Lil Wayne is now unable to perform at the festival… Lil Wayne has been refused entry to the UK directly by the Home Office in a last-minute decision. We are deeply disappointed by this sudden and negative ruling.”

The UK Home Office didn’t release a comment on why the Grammy-award winning rapper was denied entering the country but has stated previously that applications for people sentenced to a year or more in custody are usually denied.
In 2010, Wayne was sentenced to a year in prison after pleading guilty to gun possession after a fun was found on his tour bus in 2007. Recently, he was battling another sentence after another gun was found on his private plane. He was granted a pardon by former president, Donald Trump, during his last hours of presidency.
