Former NBA PLayer Matt Barnes Is On ‘Great Terms’ w/ Ex Wife Gloria Govan & Derek Fisher: My s**t played out so public & nasty, I’m really happy to say now that me & my ex are on great terms

It looks like Matt Barnes and ex-wife Gloria Govan are in a much better place today!

During a recent interview on the “Uninterrupted” podcast, former NBA star Matt Barnes, 42, opened up about learning how to c0-parent with ex wife and former BasketBall Wives star Gloria Govan, 37, despite public break up and Govan moving on and eventually marrying with his former teammate, Derek Fisher, 47. Barnes explained,

“My situation played out for the world to see–with my ex and the situation. But at the end of the day, we–all of us had to put that aside because there are kids right in the middle of this s**t. Whether it’s blended family now or broken up family, whatever the situation may be…the reality is at some point you’re probably going to have a baby momma or baby daddy. So how do you put your bulls**t to the side to realize that the bigger picture is to the kids now.”

He continued,

“Whether you can’t stand her or she can’t stand you. None of that sh*t should matter once you realize that we still have kids and we’re gonna be here.. My s**t played out so public and nasty, I’m really happy to say now that me and my ex are on great terms and I’m cool with my former teammate that she’s married to.”

Matt Barnes went on to say that he and Gloria had to realize their children came first despite the conflict they had as adults.

“At the end of the day, we’re all raising these kids. She’s my assistant coach on the basketball team. After all the s**t we been through she is coaching the twins with me, we’re coaching our kids together. I feel like if we can do it, and our sh*t was wild and the world seen it–to me that should always be a goal.”

Matt Barnes and Gloria Govan began dating back on 2006 but eventually tied the knot in 2013. The former couple later divorced in 2016 and share two kids with each other.

Shortly after their split it was reported that Gloria began dating Barnes’ former teammate Derek Fisher. The two men had played together on the Los Angeles Lakers from 2010 to 2012 and were seemingly close. Things got pretty heated when Matt Barnes reportedly beat up Fisher after it came out that Fisher was dating Barnes’s ex-wife, Gloria Govan.  Apparently, this wasn’t enough to scare off Derek Fisher seeing that he proposed to Gloria Govan in April 2018.

We’re glad to see that all parties involved are in a much better place today!
