Sad News!
The son of ‘The Wire’ actor Anwan “Big G” Glover, was shot and killed in D.C. over the weekend. He was only 26 years old.
On Sunday (Aug. 14), Anwan Glover took to Instagram to share a message, seemingly heartbroken over the loss of his son. Even though he didn’t speak directly about his son’s tragic death, many friends and family gave their love and condolences under his post that says:
“TOMORROW ISN’T PROMISED. LOVE YOUR PEOPLE TODAY,”
along with a broken heart emoji.

Glover is best known for his role as “Slim Charles” on HBO’s The Wire, where he made his acting debut in 2003, however, he is best known in the DMV area as one of the founding members of the world famous BackYard Band, which he helped found in 1992.

Ironically, Anwan “Big G” Glover himself was a victim of street violence. According to reports, he was beaten and stabbed in a nightclub brawl in D.C. back in 2014, but thankfully his injuries weren’t life-threatening.
The story is still developing.
Our Condolences go out to Glover and his family.
