Kandi Burruss Says “I Can’t F*ck With Him Ever Again” While Emotionally Discussing Beef w/Carlos King, Claims He “Stole” & Sold The Rights To Xscape’s Life Story Behind Her Back

Entertainment mogul Kandi Burruss is speaking on her unsettled beef with Carlos King.

In a recent interview, the Real Housewives Of Atlanta star revealed that former Bravo producer Carlos King was the one responsible for “stealing” and selling the rights to her 90’s girl group Xscape’s life story. Back in 2015, Kandi Burruss, 46, as well as fellow group member Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris, 47, publicly shared their disapproval of TV One’s Unsung “cut up” episode, recapping the groups rise to stardom. Subsequently, the entire group – including its two other members Tamika Scott, 46, and LaTocha Scott, 48,were vehemently upset after the network announced they would be following up with an Xscape biopic. Now, Burruss is clearing the air about the parties responsible for how the unfortunate situation came to be.

After the interviewer asked about seemingly having beef with King, Burruss stated:

“He is the one that stole my groups life story and sold it to TV One, and for that I just can’t get past it,”

The reality star continued, explaining how she didn’t learn about the coming Xscape doc until the group decided to explore the idea of doing a biopic. She stated:

“I was talking to a friend and I was like….’We should do like a movie about our groups life’….and they was like ‘somebody’s already doing that’…and I was like ‘what you mean somebody’s already doing it?!’….They was like yea it’s a network….I took a meeting about directing it.”

Burruss goes on the claim that the producers behind the project even attempted to get information about the group from her mother, not realizing her daughter had nothing to do with the film . She stated:

“His other producing partner….called my mom and was like ‘oh yea we want to interview you because we trying to do a documentary about girl groups….my mom was gonna do it….but come to find out HE was the person who had did the deal with TV One to sell our life’s story, and was going to try to ask my mother questions about us unknowingly, to try to get more information I guess for the show.”

From 2008 – 2012, King, worked closely with Burruss as a co-producer for RHOA. However the mother of three got emotional while discussing the betrayal she felt upon finding out about Kings deal with TV One, which she claims he never once discussed with her during that time. She stated:

“I just thought that was the lowest thing that anybody could ever do. When you’re a public figure they can do unauthorized stories about you. Never once all them years we had been around each other he had never once told me that he was trying to do a movie about us….and to go behind my back and to do that….That’s our life’s story,”

She concluded:

“I was like I can’t f*ck with him ever again.”

King has not responded to Burruss‘ claims at this time.
