Kanye West – Adidas Announces Their Partnership w/ The Rapper Is Under Review Following His ‘White Lives Matter’ Fashion Show: Successful Partnerships Are Rooted In Mutual Respect & Shared Values
It looks like Kanye “Ye” West’s ‘white lives matter’ fashion show may be causing him a large business deal.
Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) is now under review by apparel brand Adidas following his controversial fashion show. On Thursday (October 6) Adidas revealed that it will be pausing its partnership with the Grammy-winning rapper for his questionable actions. In a recently released statement, the mega-company said,
“Adidas has always been about creativity, innovation and supporting athletes and artists to achieve their vision. The Adidas Yeezy partnership is one of the most successful collaborations in our industry’s history. We are proud of our team that has worked tirelessly throughout our collaboration with Ye and the iconic products that were born from it. We also recognize that all successful partnerships are rooted in mutual respect and shared values. After repeated efforts to privately resolve the situation, we have taken the decision to place the partnership under review. We will continue to co-manage the current product during this period.”
Reacting to the news in his typical style on Instagram, Ye responded next to a screenshot of the article:
“F——-K ADIDAS I AM ADIDAS ADIDAS RAPED AND STOLE MY DESIGNS.”

Since 2016, Ye and Adidas have reaped major success with the Yeezy fashion line, creating footwear, apparel, and accessories that have seemingly dominated global trends. However, it’s no secret that as of late, Ye has been agitating to leave his Adidas contract. He’s shared numerous times throughout this year his disappointment with the company.

Time will tell whether the Yeezy manufacturer ultimately calls it quits with the fashion mogul or not. In the meantime, Ye has had similar grievances with yet another brand, GAP, and they could also be considering their next steps in light of Adidas’ decision.
Just last month, Ye said in an interview:
“It was all kind of a disregard for the voice of something that I co-created. I co-created the product at Adidas. I co-created the product at Gap. That means that I was there for some specific agenda, not for Yeezy Gap to be everything that it could be, or this dream that I had about what the Gap could be. It’s time for me to make my own thing.”
