Kanye West’s Donda Academy Basketball Team Kicked Out Of Major High School Tournament For His Antisemitic Comments + Professional Athletes Drop From His Sports Agency

Kanye West is taking yet another loss amid his Antisemitic tour.

The star players on Kanye West’s Donda Academy basketball team will no longer be able to participate in a major tournament due to the recent controversy surrounding West.

According to reports, the Scholastic Play-By-Play Classics announced Donda has been removed from this season’s schedule, claiming Kanye West’s,

“words and actions violate our values as a company and a country, and what we seek to ensure at all of our events — a spirit of diversity, sportsmanship, inclusion, equity and mutual respect.”

The organization continued,

“While we are firm in our reasoning for this decision, it does not diminish our heartache and regret for Donda’s hard working athletes who will lose out the most as a result of Kanye’s actions.”

While Scholastic Play-By-Play sympathizes with the young athletes that will be affected by this ruling, they are standing firm in their decision.

“Unfortunately, we cannot in good conscience host an organization founded and directed by Mr. West at our events.”

The basketball tournament – which has five national locations – is a huge deal at the high school level and has even once hosted NBA superstars like LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant. Donda was originally slated to compete at the December 11 event in Louisville. It’s a missed opportunity for the entire team but especially for five-star guards Robert Dillingham (who’s committed to Kentucky) and AJ Johnson, as well as the other players on the team who are also ranked nationally.

Kanye West’s sports program/company is his latest business to take major hits over his hate speech. Professional athletes Aaron Donald and Jaylen Brown have recently announced they’re Leaving Donda Sports.

Donald – who plays defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams and Brown – who’s a basketball player for the Boston Celtics both signed with Ye’s Donda Sports in May. At the time, Aaron Donald said it was the company’s “whole family atmosphere” that convinced him to sign with West.

Donald released a statement on Tuesday (Oct. 25) saying,

“The recent comments and displays of hate and anti-Semitism are the exact opposite of how we choose to live our lives and raise our children. We find them to be irresponsible and go against everything we believe in as a family.”

He added,

“As parents and members of society, we felt a responsibility to send a clear message that hateful words and actions have consequences and that we must do better as human beings. We do not feel our beliefs, voices and actions belong anywhere near a space that misrepresents and oppresses people of any background, ethnicity or race.”

Brown– who denounced Kanye’s statements on Monday (Oct. 24), but said he would remain with Donda — also addressed his change of heart saying,

“In the past 24 hours, I’ve been able to reflect and better understand how my previous statements lack clarity in expressing my stance against recent insensitive public remarks and actions. For that, I apologize.”

Donda Sports started off strong with two big names in their respective sports. Now, the organization has zero clients on its athletic roster. Donda Academy and Donda Sports is just the latest fallout following Ye’s anti-semitic comments–as previously reported, Adidas, Balenciaga, and CAA have parted ways with him.
