Update: Gap To Remove All Yeezy Products From Stores Due To Kanye West’s Ongoing Hate Speech: Antisemitism, Racism & Hate In Any Form Are Inexcusable

Update #2: (Oct. 25, 2022): And another one bites the dust!

Gap is the latest corporation to sever ties with Kanye West over his antisemitic remarks. Gap Inc. — which is reportedly the largest specialty retailer in the United States — has announced they are officially taking additional steps to bring their relationship with Kanye West to an end. As previously reported, the company released a statement last month that they were ending the Yeezy Gap partnership after Kanye expressed multiple times he was no longer happy with the deal.

Gap revealed today (Oct. 25) — in a new statement relating to Kanye’s latest hate speech comments — that they are immediately pulling his products from their stores:

“In September, Gap announced ending its Yeezy Gap partnership. Our former partner’s recent remarks and behavior further underscore why. We are taking immediate steps to remove Yeezy Gap product from our stores and we have shut down Yeezygap.com.”

The statement continued:

“Antisemitism, racism and hate in any form are inexcusable and not tolerated in accordance with our values. On behalf of our customers, employees and shareholders, we are partnering with organizations that combat hate and discrimination.”

Update #1: (Sept.15, 2022): It looks like Kanye West is a man of his word.

According to reports, Kanye West has terminated his partnership with Gap. The ‘All Mine’ rapper claims the famed apparel company didn’t keep up with their end of the deal. Kanye’s legal team reportedly filed a letter saying Gap violated their deal by not releasing his clothing  and not opening retail stores specifically dedicated to Kanye’s products.

Original Story: Billionaire mogul Kanye West is taking a strong stance against big corporations.

The 44-year-old Yeezy owner declared in a recent interview that while he will finish out his deals with apparel brands Adidas & Gap, he will not be doing any other partnerships in the future. West’s statements come shortly after a very messy and public feud with both companies due to ongoing grievances with the companies.

Speaking on plans to take his billion dollar Yeezy brand solo following the completion of his current deals, he stated:

“It’s time for me to go it alone….I made the companies money. The companies made me money. We created ideas that will change apparel forever. Like the round jacket, the foam runner, the slides that have changed the shoe industry. Now it’s time for Ye to make the new industry. No more companies standing in between me and the audience.”

According to reports, the Donda artist has quite some time before he’s free of current contracts. Reportedly, West is locked in with Adidas – who produces the popular Yeezy Boost 350 sneaker, until 2026 and Gap Inc. – who West partnered with to sell his clothing wear at more affordable prices – until 2030. However, Ye says he plans to deal with them just as he deals with his estranged wife Kim Kardashian who he shares four children with. He stated:

“They my new baby mamas….I guess we’re just going to have to co-parent those 350s.”

West has received an outpour of support from several of his big-name celeb friends since declaring war against the apparel giants earlier this month. The musician had a full-on social media meltdown after alleging that Gap was hosting meetings about his brand without him and accusing Adidas of selling “blatant copies” of his shoe designs. Speaking on the matter he stated:

“No one should be held in that position where people can steal from them and say we’re just paying you to shut up….That destroys innovation. That destroys creativity. That’s what destroyed Nikola Tesla.”

He added:

“Every step of my career there was something in the way….They did the dream, but just without Ye.”

The father of 4 went on to state that his public lashing was not just for show, rather to put his foot down and stand up for the brand he created to one day leave to his children. West and Kardashian share four kids together, North (9), Saint (6), Chicago (4), and Psalm (3). Ye stated in his social media rant:

“Some things are bigger than money My kids have no idea what daddy has gone through this past few days alone to secure the brand that will one day be handed down to them God Willing These future leaders will never back down be stolen from and forced to compromise who they are for the check”

Additional to focusing commerce efforts on his Yeezy brand, the father of 4 revealed he also plans to open educational Donda campuses, “which will house shopping, schools, farms, and dorms all together”. Earlier this month, the grammy winning artist revealed plans to open brick-and-mortar Yeezy locations nationwide.

The report also states that West is pursuing board seats at both companies. Additionally, he is negotiating with Adidas to secure 20% royalty on all the shoes he’s designed with the company in perpetuity to save it for his young children.
