Chaka Khan Believes Auto-Tuned Singers Don’t Stand A Chance In the Music Industry: They Need To Get Them A Job At The Post Office
If you’re an auto-tune singer, Chaka Khan thinks you should consider delivering mail instead.
On Monday (Oct. 24) at Denise Rich’s annual Gabrielle’s Angel Ball in New York, R&B legend Chaka Khan admitted that she doesn’t take artists who use auto-tune seriously. The “Queen of Funk” mogul shared with Tashara Jones of Page Six:
“There is some great stuff out there and there are some great artists.”

Chaka Khan, born Yvette Marie Stevens, continued:
“There’s some very fine young artists out there doing great great work that I am impressed with.”
The 69-year-old said:
“But the others, they just need to get them a job at the Post Office — they are always hiring!”
She added:
“People are using Auto-tune. They need to get to the Post Office quick.”

During an interval, the 10-time Grammy-Award winner said most talented female artists don’t believe in themselves. The Chicago native elaborated:
“I feel very sad. It saddens me deeply that so much… insecurity is present in these girls. They really need to know that they are the gold and that they really are precious.”
During the fundraiser, the singer performed her hit singles “I’m Every Woman” and “Tell Me Something Good.” Denise Rich founded the charity in memory of her daughter, Gabrielle, who died from leukemia at the age of 27.
