Chris Rock To Star In Netflix’s First Live-Streamed Comedy Special In March, One Year After Oscars Slap Incident
Looks like Chris Rock will be saying more of his peace about his infamous Oscars experience during his new Netflix comedy special.
According to reports, Netflix will stream Chris Rock’s live stand-up special on March 4, nearly a year after the Oscars incident where famed actor Will Smith, 54, slapped the 57-year-old comedian.

As you may already know, the infamous scene took place on March 27 at the Oscars ceremony, before Will Smith’s win for Best Actor. Will Smith stormed onstage and slapped Chris Rock on live television over a joke made about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, 50. The incident resulted in Will Smith’s resignation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and a ban from attending Academy events for 10 years.

Robbie Praw, Netflix Vice President of Stand-up and Comedy Formats, reportedly said in a statement in November,
“Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation. We’re thrilled the entire world will be able to experience a live Chris Rock comedy event and be a part of Netflix history. This will be an unforgettable moment and we’re so honored that Chris is carrying this torch.”
As previously reported, the comic announced during his stop in London on his Ego Death tour that he would go into greater detail about the controversial slap “on Netflix.” Rock said,
“People expect me to talk about the bullsh*t, I’m not going to talk about it right now, I’ll get to it eventually, on Netflix.”
