Now, in new court filings, it’s been revealed that Miles provided Davis with the handgun prior to the shooting.
Police claim Davis shot at Harris while she was in the passenger seat of a vehicle. According to the documents, witnesses identified Davis as the gunman. There is also surveillance video of the entire incident.
Police Capt. Kennedy said in a news conference Sunday evening (Jan. 15) that it appeared,
“the only motive was a minor altercation that these individuals had with the victim as they were out on The Strip.”
The victim’s mother, DeCarla Cotton, says Jamea Harris was targeted for declining a man trying to flirt with her.
Harris’ boyfriend told Cotton they were getting something to eat after a night out when a man approached Harris and started flirting with her.
Cotton told CNN,
“He was advancing on her and she declined his attention. He refused to go away. While they were attempting to leave, one gentleman walked up to the car and started shooting.”
“I swear, I love you more than you imagine.”
Both Miles and Davis are being held without bail.
